🔴 Live Show Control

Live Show is the real-time display system used during certain LIPAIX shows. An operator runs Live Admin in MyLipaix while the audience watches Live View on the projector (https://lipaix.com/live/<showId>, same path on production).

Only two formats have a dedicated régie today:

  • Public Investigation: character board, relationships, victim/culprit, guessing game
  • Match domicile (home match): lineups, on-screen picks, scoreboard, current impro

Other formats open the selections “Live” URL but show a message that no live régie exists for that event type.

🔐 Who can access Live Admin?

Anyone with a MyLipaix account that has admin or member access can open Live Admin. You must be logged in via Discord (same as the rest of MyLipaix).

📍 Where to open Live Admin?

  1. In MyLipaix, go to Selections.
  2. Open the selection page for the show (the one with the cast / lineup).
  3. Click Live Show in the header.
This appears for Public Investigation and Match domicile events (not only Public Investigation).

The URL pattern is:

/admin/live/<showId>

📺 Set up the public display (Live View)

You can run everything from one computer if you only mirror or extend the external display (projector), but it is better to use two machines: one for the régie and one for projection.

  1. On Live Admin, copy the Live View link (Visu / projector URL in the sticky bar). It is always …/live/<showId> on the public site.
  2. Open that link on the projection machine and leave it running.
  3. Keep Live Admin on a separate laptop or tablet.

⛶ Fullscreen on Live View

On the public page, double-click to enter fullscreen. If text or an image gets selected, click a blank area first, then double-click again.

🖥️ Screen roles

If anything looks wrong, trust the real Live View on the projector, not only the preview.

🎮 Presentation modes

A presentation mode is what Live View shows at a given moment. During the show, the operator hops between modes depending on the beat (introduction, on-stage scene, reveal, score, etc.).

Where to switch them?

In the sticky bar at the top of Live Admin, a mode picker lists every mode available for the current format. The active mode is highlighted; clicking another mode switches Live View immediately.

Modes shared across formats

Two neutral modes exist in every format:

  • Noir scène (Stage black): dark / empty screen. Use it when the lights are on the stage and nothing should pull eyes to the projector.
  • Attente (Waiting): neutral holding screen before the show starts, at intermission, or during a long transition.

The other modes (Joueurs, Personnages, Points, Impro en cours, reveals, etc.) are format-specific and detailed in the format guides.

Golden rule: do not always leave an info screen up

A dense information screen (relationships, score, impro card…) is not always relevant. While performers are on stage, Live View can distract the audience or spoil an upcoming beat.

  • Switch back to Noir scène or Attente between games.
  • Avoid leaving an info mode up for an entire scene, unless you want the audience to refer to it (typically, the relationship board in Public Investigation).

⏳ Synchronization

While a save, mode change, timer patch, or diffusion request is in flight, Live Admin may show a synchronization message. Avoid clicking save or changing modes repeatedly until the action finishes.
